Challenge-based education
and self-managed learning:
on the same team!
An instructional challenge is proposed as project-based leaarning for late teens: Develop a presentation showing how people can manage their own learning and why they should. Some resources are given.
Empty the classroom!
- Schools are preparing students for life.
- So they must be preparing students to manage their own learning.
- The can't claim to teach students everything they need to know for life.
- Do they have any classes aimed at that skill-set?

Self-managed learning: why and how
- That title suggests a useful challenge for students in grades 11 and 12.
- Develop a presentation showing how people can manage their own learning and why they should.
- Good for the whole class: introduces them to the idea of self-managed learning.
- Possibly offers useful ideas to the graduating class.
- Presenters might publish in a blog and use it in their portfolio of work.
