Fantasy place with notes

Note from Titania/Puck Fantasy place

  • Greetings strangers.  Beware the dangers.
  • We welcome guests.  We welcome quests.
  • Robin G. can help your quest.  Or Robin G. can be a pest.
  • But Robin knows where the flower grows.
  • Riddle and rhyme will take your time.
  • His garb is black and red and yellow
  • Though he's not, he's called Goodfellow.
  • Red on yellow, kill a fellow.
  • Beware the moon; it fills too soon.
  • Diana manages its mood.  You must win her altitude.
  • Of Oberon beware.  For strangers, he will never care.
  • And so I wish the goodest on ya, your ever faithful friend, Titania.

Spoiler warning

  • If you are reading Werewolf sequence as a story, this article will give away important information.
  • Remember, the story is written for illustration.

2019 EDU: What would I want in a MUVE if I were using it to teach a class?

What would I want in a MUVE
if I were using it to teach a class?
MultiUser Virtual Environments (MUVEs) are widely available now and are in use for online instruction.  Here I view the use of MUVEs from the standpoint of a retired university professor.
      The Empty Classroom

      • I taught college and graduate level classes for 25 years.
      • So I have some experience to know what an instructor needs.

Would I use a MUVE to teach a class?

      • I would be concerned about how I could evaluate performance.
      • Here I assume that evaluation for credit is not done in the MUVE.
      • But otherwise I would be happy to use a MUVE.
      • Indeed, I would see online experience as necessary student preparation now.
      • Online learning includes learning how to use the internet for finding out things.
      • (Instructors translate finding out things to doing research.)
      • You need to learn how to find out things if you didn't learn everything in school.
      • Becoming able to find out things is called learning how to learn.

2019 WW: EDU: Cybalounge web classroom (model). Any instructor could have a classroom to modify as needed

      Any instructor could have
a classroom to modify as needed
CybaLOUNGE, a 3D place running in a browser.  announces a model classroom available to instructors who are using CybaLOUNGE  for instruction.  Here I point out the resources available in the model classroom.
       CybaLOUNGE classroom
      (model)

      • A conventional classroom here (classic style).
      • A familiar appearance for a novel environment.
      • I would rearrange it to be student-centered rather than teacher-centered.
      • But that would only be a matter of moving the desks and chairs.
      • I would have all the things I would expect to use in teaching a class.
      • But I would not be stuck in a specific place.
      • I would not use a fifty-minute class. I would give lectures in smaller units.
      • I could teach students wherever they were.
      • I might teach a specific subject to an entire school district
      • Or to all the junior colleges in the city.
      • Or to disabled students who could not travel to school.

2019 IMA: BIZ: Theft of digital content. What can we do about it?

      Theft of digital content.
What can we do about it?

Part of successful selling is creating and maintaining a brand valued by potential customers.  Content creators in virtual worlds may want to pay more attention to the brand they are creating, especially if they are interested in suppressing illegitimate sales of their products.

2019 PROMO: EVENTS: Hypergrid promotion: Think as a world citizen.

      Hypergrid promotion:
      Think as a world citizen.
      Updated 3/12/2019
How to develop promotional material:  Know your target audience and how to reach them. Know what you want them to do in response to your promotion.  Know the concrete actions they have to take.   Work over those details to make them as few and as easy as possible. Now imagine your are the reader. Why would you (as the reader) want to take those actions.  Start your appeal with the why they want to, then go to the how to do it.
      • You want your readers to do something.   What?
      • Put your answer on your worksheet.
      • It is not "Come to my event," unless your event is starting right now.
      • It is probably "Put it on your calendar."
      • Or maybe "Join this group for a reminder."
      • (Join group is better--you can continue the contact.)
      • Who will want to do that?  Don't say everybody.
      • If everybody wanted to do it, you would not have to promote it.
      • Why will the people in your target audience want to do that?
      • You are going to have to convince people that they want to.
      • Or don't bother promoting.
