Tessellation or tiling the plane fits many interests: art, mathematics, architecture and puzzles.  Mondrian tiled the canvas plane with art.

The Mondrian Puzzle 

Given

  • An integer-sided square.
  • Given: a set of integer-sided rectangles (tiles)  such that no pair is congruential.
  • Score = The difference between the areas of smallest and largest tiles 
  • Standard tiling rules require that the tiles cover the whole area without overlap
Task
  • Find the tiling that has the lowest score possible.
