Use social 3D on the web:
what you need to know

What is social 3D?

  • Social activity in a virtual three-dimensional environment
  • Different from games, simulations, and other focused uses of 3D
  • Social activities are made of people interacting with people.
  • But are otherwise limited only by what people want to do.

That's social.  What is 3D?

  • Much like the "real" world that we are accustomed to.
  • It may look like our normal world.
  • Or a world of fantasy, science fiction, history, or imagination.
  • Actually, it will probably have places that match all these scenes.
  • There are people (avatars) as you would expect in a world for people.
  • The people are talking to each other.
  • They are all doing what they please
  • They may be playing a game.
  • They may be talking about their current project.
  • They may be singing and dancing.
  • They may be telling jokes.
  • They may be building something.
  • Some may be taking pictures or making videos.
  • Some may just be looking around to see what is there.

  • Select your entry place:  Look for a drop-down list on the login page.
  • You don't have to register, make a password, or anything like that.
  • Guests just pick a nickname and an avatar.
  • That is true of the web-worlds mentioned above.  Others may differ.
  • When you get into the web-world, you may have to click the screen to start.
  • In 3DWebWorldz you press Esc. to return to flat mode with cursor.

  • A stored message is usually delivered when the person comes inworld.
  • Local chat: A typed message that is shown to everyone nearby.
  • Worldwide chat: A typed message that is shown to those in the chat room.
  • Group chat: A typed message that is shown to everyone in a group
  • Voice: Usually local:  Heard by everyone nearby.
  • Voice almost always works in Chrome, but you may have to give permission.
