2017 BIZ: IMA: Virtual Worlds Fair has an initial site: OSCC, Thirza's HG exhibit: : A project of the HG Chamber of Commerce

Virtual Worlds Fair has an initial site:

A project of the HG Chamber of Commerce
AvaCon hosts the OSCC and provides a persistent site for the annual builds there.  This matches the Virtual Worlds Fair concept of a persistent collection of exhibits.    Thirza Ember has a special site there that tells about the Hypergrid.  That makes an excellent gateway to introduce newcomers to the worlds of the Hypergrid.  .

Objective

  • Publicize and promote the virtual worlds of the Hypergrid.
  • Provide a place for new people to get acquainted with offerings of the Hypergrid. 
  • Provide a place for communities and merchants to show their offerings.
  • Encourage promotion of Hypergrid worlds to the outworld.

Concept

  • The proposed Virtual Worlds Fair is a distributed place.
  • A collection of venues connected by hypergates.
  • It would have events sometimes to promote specific venues 
  • But the main feature will be persistent venues ready for visits any time.
  • So when you meet new people, you can give them a LM to the Fair grounds.

  • HG address:

  • Put the HG address in the Find bar of your world map.  Click Find, TP
  • Get a landmark when you are there.
Gateways to to the Hypergrid
  • The Hypergrid  (HG) is made of many grids.
  • All running OpenSimulator.
  • If you are in one HG grid, you can travel to any of the others.  
  • If you have a gateway or a landmark
  • You can probably take a copy of the gateways at Hypergrid Hello.
  • Walkin gateways will TP you to a destination grid.  
  • You can take a landmark at any place.  It will take you back from any HG place.

Extending the VWF Fairgrounds

  • The VWF Fairgrounds will extend to other places on the Hypergrid
  • Hypergates will take people to other venues of the Virtual  Worlds Fair.
  • The other OSCC Expo sites are already available:

  • The managing group will be formed by interested parties.

The Hypergrid WIP Show

  • The Hypergrid WIP is a one hour "show & tell" of works in progress. 
  • Everyone is invited.  Building, scripting, entertainment-- whatever you are working on.
  • Selby may capture video of presentations in voice, for posting on YouTube.
  • The WIP show normally meets on 2 Sundays a month at 12 pm California time.
  • The show meets at the Pandora location on the second Sunday 
  • But will not meet in the summer.
  • And at Cookie II on the fourth Sunday.  
  • To keep up with the WIP meetings, join the Kitely group, Work in progress.
  • We can go to your place if there is time.
