 Promoting Events in SL: Blogs 
Blogs are good for promoting events in Second Life.  That is my opinion, anyway.   If you follow this blog, you will see that it announces and promotes selected events in Second Life.   The selection is based on goals explained here:

  • Reaches the outworld, people not in Second Life
  • Becomes part of your portfolio
  • Reaches smart phones
  • Can present your writing
  • Operates on your schedule
  • Can publish in real time
  • Presents videos and pictures
  • Presents live web links for easy follow-up
  • Stays alive for later reference and reuse
  • Gives stats for feedback
  • May make you a little money

Avoid blog-fading
Try piggy-blogging
  • Find blogs that post on things you want to promote
  • Send them press releases about your event
  • Pay attention to what they do with it
  • Collaborative blogging. Overview
What I like in a press release
  • Subject fits the content I publish
  • Fits this checklist:  Checklist for promoting your events
  • Has everything I will want to use in a single notecard or e-mail item
  • Has a distinctive brand name in the title
  • Comes to me at least a week before the event
  • What do we do in Virtual Worlds? 
  • Search on page with Google Chrome: Ctrl+f, search bar upper right 
  • Google search this blog, column on right
  • or put site:virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com at the end of the search terms
