2017 EDU: HYPERGRID: Hypergrid education community: Instruction on offer

Hypergrid education community: 
Instruction offered

This article offers a vehicle for gathering and organizing learning opportunities on the Hypergrid.  It is paired with a Google+ community in which people can post information about instructional offerings.  When offerings are adequately described, I will copy them into this article, where they will be easier to find.

Instruction offered on the Hypergrid

  • HyperGrid instruction. What is offered?
  • People offering instruction can post courses in this Google+ community. 
  • People looking for courses can look in that community for recent posts.
  • For older announcements, search on this page.
  • Use page search.   On chrome, Ctrl+f opens a search bar (top right). 
  • If the collection gets large enough, I will group offerings to fit particular interests. 

Courses need the following information:

  • Title:  What does the course teach?
  • Description:  What happens in the course? 
  • Self-managed or scheduled classes?
  • Learning objective: When you have successfully completed this course, you will be able...(finish the sentence.)
  • Hypergrid address: Grid, Region (sim)
  • grid.kitely.com:8002:Cookie II
  • FIrestorm hop if the final destination is not at the default landing point
  • Who to contact about the course. 
  • Class schedule link: web site, blog, or calendar.
  • Cost (including free)
  • I will list offerings with web pages, even if they do not have all this info.

How to handle a Hypergrid address 

From any Hypergrid-enabled grid, paste the address into the navigation bar of Firestorm and press enter. Or paste it into the world map search bar of any viewer, search, and click Teleport when the destination is found. If it doesn't work, don't give up. Try again in a minutes.  Sometimes the first try fails (probably times out).  And try again a few hours later. Some hypergrid destinations are offline part of the day.
