Simulated KEVA builds collapsing in slow motion
-
Kitely continues to use BulletSim as the default, but allows BulletSim as an option. New Media Arts, the group I work with is using BulletSim. We made that choice initially because BulletSim is the future and ODE is the past. We have since noted that it resolved some previous problems.
-
I believe the preferred physics engine will depend on the particular things it has to do. Since I don't know enough to have an opinion, I am posting video examples of BulletSim supporting movement that may challenge its capabilities.

Keva Planks collapse. How does the physics look to you?
- In virtual worlds, you can make a copy before you crash them
- Build once, destroy many times.
- Try many ways to destroy.
- Entrepreneurs alert:
- Could you make a marketable package out of this?
- Copy perms, of course.
- Bigger Bowling: knock down all the buildings with 3 balls
- Maybe insert some other events besides collapse

Previous articles related to BulletSim
OpenSimulator is shifting to the BulletSim physics engine. There is disagreement as to whether BulletSim is now ready for general use or not. The latest version of OpenSimulator makes BulletSim the default physics engine, but allows optional use of ODE, the physics engine previously used in OpenSimulator.-

7th Anniversary of the Short Poetry Workshop, Tue 2/10, 7pm SLT
Happy Anniversary to the Short Poetry Workshop! It’s been 7 years since we held the first workshop. We’re celebrating by doing the Pleiades poetry form which is a 7-line poem. Each line of the poem starts with the same first letter of the title word, and there’s no rhyme or syllable counting.

How to handle a Hypergrid address
From any Hypergrid-enabled grid, paste the address into the address bar of Firestorm and press enter. Or paste it into the world map search bar of any viewer, search, and click Teleport when the destination is found. If it doesn't work, don't give up. Try again in couple of minutes. Sometimes the first try fails (probably times out). And try again a few hours later. Some hypergrid destinations are offline part of the day.
- The ideal Hypergrid address form--almost there in Firestorm
- If you get an address like this:
- hg.francogrid.org:80:Residence-09:/119/128/190
- paste it into the address bar of Firestorm, see if it takes you to the exact coordinates.
