friends, places, events in SL?

• V3.2 People button  (2 heads)
• V3.2 Mini-map button (Bullseye)

Friends you know from elsewhere

• You need to know the Second Life username.
• People who have been in SL for a long time may have a first and last name
• Like thinkerer.melville.  
• Sometimes you need the dot in between.  Sometimes you don't.
• People in SL can also have a display name.  They change that sometimes
• Search on the username.
• V3.2 Search button (magnifying glass)   
• If your first search does not help, narrow the search to people.
• If you still can't find your friend, ask your friend to find you.

People you will want as friends

• Fill out your interests on your profile.  Let other people know about your interests
• V3.2 Profile Button (framed head)
• V3.2. Profiles. Yours and theirs
• Check the profiles of other people.  Right click on the avatar, select Profile
• Who is near me?
• Chat Hotspots
• Check the feed first--a person's posts can tell a lot. Then check the interests.
• If somebody really looks interesting, check their groups and picks.
• Visit busy places.  On the standard viewer, the login page lists popular places.
