2017 WW: Save and restore your web-world

Save and restore your web-world
Once you build a web-world, you will want to save it, so that you can restore it when you make some bad move in building.   Here is how to save and restore in Cybalounge.

Backup and Restore buttons

Backup

  • Click the crossed tools to enter build mode.  
  • Click the ground to select the whole world and bring up the build window.
  • Click Backup to save the current world as backup.
  • Note that the current backup will replace any previous backup.
  • You can also backup objects by taking them into inventory:
  • Storing and handling objects, including complex objects

    Restore

    • To replace your current world with your backup, click Restore.
    • Note that in the free beta version, you only have the most recent backup.
    • The future production version will probably let you keep several backups.
    • The production version will probably let you download backups to your computer.
    • The production version will probably let you have several worlds to work with.
    • The production version will probably not be free, at least not for production use.
    • But I would not expect it to be expensive, either. 
    • And it is likely that a free development version will be maintained.

    The Hypergrid WIP Show

    • The Hypergrid WIP is a one hour "show & tell" of works in progress. 
    • Everyone is invited.  Building, scripting, entertainment-- whatever you are working on.
    • Selby may capture video of presentations in voice, for posting on YouTube.
    • The WIP show normally meets on 2 Sundays a month at 12 pm California time.
    • The show meets at the Pandora location on the second Sunday 
    • But will not meet in the summer.
    • And at Cookie II on the fourth Sunday.  
    • To keep up with the WIP meetings, join the Kitely group, Work in progress.
    • We can go to your place if there is time.
