My conclusion

• Maybe we should call it a pre-metaverse or a protoverse. 
• At any rate there are multiple virtual worlds around that offer most of the expected features of the metaverse.  
• Other than the worlds of the hypergrid, these virtual worlds are not connected.  
• We might say we have a decentralized metaverse at present.
• I am not sure we will ever see virtual worlds letting their users travel off to their competitors.
• But someone might create a universal registration (UR) site where multiple grids accept the registration on UR.
