2017 OSHG: Road map to joining web-worlds to OpenSim

Road map to joining web-worlds to OpenSim
A road map tells you how you will get from where you are to where you want to go, noting the main intermediate milestones.  (A road map is not a timeline.) Here I note the major events I expect we will see along the way.

Drop by and let's talk

How do web-worlds relate to the user-built virtual worlds?

No technical connection, but strong people connection

Coming soon: OAR to web-world
Coming later, Kitely Market could connect to web worlds.
        • If there were enough web-worlds they could create a market for virtual goods.
        • Kitely Market could sell virtual goods to web worlds.
        • Sure there are technical details to be worked out.
        • Kitely has plenty of tech capability.
        • But they would not put an effort on that unless they see a market.
        • With Kitely Market, you could furnish a web-world quickly.

Communities and grids use web-worlds for marketing

        • You can put your web-world on any web page
        • One web-world can offer teleports to other web-worlds.
        • I imagine a cooperative web-world, maybe set up by a grid.
        • One entrance, perhaps with links to other web-worlds in that grid.
        • Perhaps there would be hosts at the entrance part of the time.
        • Each community would host a web-marketing site.
        • Built out of the best parts of the community grid.
        • The community site could offer videos or narrations.
        • The site might have a click for help button.
        • Hosts could be available to tell people about the community.
        • And the big virtual worlds in the grid.

Web-worlds could manage download and registration in a grid

        • The site would offer a button to download and install the viewer.
        • Firestorm has already cut out some of the geekery on its installation.
        • A grid promotion site would have its own customized viewer
        • And registration fields easily accessed from the web-world.
        • The customized viewer would already be preset for the grid.
        • The grid could open immediately for the new person.
        • While the person is still in the web-world.
