A curated blog, what, why, and how?

Content curation has now come to mean the act of sorting through the vast amounts of content on the web and presenting it in a coherent way, organized around a specific topic(s) (Macmillan Dictionary ).  

 Bloggers can curate  to make their blogs more useful to readers and to bring more readers to the blog.  This report mentions some features specific to Blogger, but other blogging software is likely to offer similar features.

Why

How

  • Themes: you identify recurrent themes in your blog.
  • Labels mark themes.  Blogger offers a label feature. 
  • You can use multiple labels on the same post.
  • Blogger lets you sort by labels, lets readers search by labels.
  • Keywords in titles or text are found by Google search 
  • Search description (post setting in Blogger) shows in search results
  • Search in blog offered by Blogger (upper left)
  • Search in blog gadget can go on your blog for easy access
  • Summary articles:  You collect and organize them.
  • Use Blogger's pages feature to show summary articles in the header.
  • Curation gets extra views
