2016 HELP: Promo: Embed videos and calendars in your blog (simplified)

Embed videos and calendars
in your blog (simplified)

Simplified instructions are presented.
How to put embedding code into HTML
in Blogger

Where does the embedding code come from?

  • YouTube offers a Share option.
  • Click that and click Embed to get the embedding code.
  • I don't embed from any other video site, because they remove too quickly.

Google calendars

  • To add a Google calendar to your collection, click on the + sign, bottom right.
  • Google calendars in your collection appear to the left of your calendar.
  • Hover your cursor over the one you want to embed.
  • Click the 3-dot column and choose settings.
  • Scroll down for the embed code.  You can use that code or customize,
  • You will want to customize if you want a different time-zone or view.
  • Google calendars: blog, display, wear, combine. Summary

I don't bother to try to place the embedded item where I want it at this point.  I keep a model page  with all the calendars I expect to use.  I just copy a calendar from this model page (in the compose mode) and paste it (in the compose mode) wherever I want it.
If you want to change the height or width, you don't have to remake the calendar code.  Go to the html mode and look in the embedding code for these expressions:
The numbers in quotes are the current height and width settings and probably will be different from the examples given here.  You can change the numbers to make the adjustments you want.
