2016 STAGE: EDU: Virtual Shakespeare? No, real stage plays in a virtual world

Virtual Shakespeare?
No, real stage plays in a virtual world
All theater stages are virtual worlds.  Just not digital.  So they can't come to your house and let you watch them in your pajamas.  They can't come to your high school to show your English classes how it is done.  If the stage is in New York and you live in River City, you are out of luck.  That was before the age of the internet.  Now look what the digital stage can do.

Yes, Shakespeare wrote soap operas.

Two Gentlemen of Verona is a comedy by William Shakespeare : Julia will go to any means to snare Protheus who lusts for Silvia who loves Valentine but must marry Sir Thurio, because her dad the Duke says so. Mix in nefarious Outlaws, flippant servants and a smelly dog. What could possibly go wrong?

Virtual World Theater - Still Not Sure What it is?

If you have never entered a Virtual World, it can seem like an alien idea; but, it is not as far out there as you may think.
-

Have you ever played a video game? If so, you already have experience controlling an avatar. If you haven't played video games since the 80's, the Pacman avatar does count! His world, however, was far more limited than the world you can have now!.
-
The difference in Virtual Worlds is that you can control how your avatar looks, dresses, moves, talks and so much more, all in a real-time environment.
-
Virtual World Theater is a LIVE THEATER EVENT, with real actors using their voices and operating the avatar's movements. You can participate as an audience member for pure enjoyment or you can get more involved - audition for a show, write a script, design a set, manage props, design and run the lights, etc. If you like theater, Virtual World Theater, is something worth checking out.
