***2016 BIZ: Who needs a licensing agreement in a virtual world? Who owns things in a virtual world?

Who needs a licensing agreement in a virtual world?
People in virtual worlds produce art.  Art has value.  Art produced in the US is protected by US copyright law.  Artists earn money from material under copyright by licensing it use.  For that you need a licensing agreement.   Many are available on the web.  Here is one and some reasons why you might want to use even if you are not buying or selling art work.

Who needs a licensing agreement in a virtual world?

  • Content creators (In US law, you have copyright on what you create.)
  • Content buyers (You buy the right to use the content in certain ways.)
  • Creators of free content (You control the way your content is used.)
  • Users of free content (You need to know how you are allowed to use it.)
  • Photographers (That is content you create.)
  • Video makers (That is content you create.)
  • Owners of places of interest (Do you have a license for using things as you are doing?)
