Virtual worlds are model worlds. If you own one, you get to play with it. You can let your friends play with it, too, because virtual worlds are populated with real people. Here is an example of a model world where people can play with boats and airships. And the tracks are laid for the train system, though the trains are not running yet.
Metavrse tours visits a drive-in theater
in a digital model world

Model boat works
Model boats
- The Metaverse Tour checks out the boats.
We can motor in these model boats
--
Easiest outboard I ever saw
--
Model harbor and boats
--
Models can be really big
in virtual worlds
- I am standing on the top deck (click image to enlarge).
*****************************************
Model aircraft
We rode in the blimp
--
The blimp gives an aerial tour
--
Then lands for us to get off
- We could just jump off. Avatars are even harder to destroy than Toons
**********************************************
Model railways
- The green thing in the middle of the railway is probably a guide.
- When the railroad is operational, we make the guide invisible.
- (But the train can still "feel" it.)
The train usually stays on the tracks
- But "usually" is not good enough for trains.
The train passes the drive-in movie
and the airport
- We need bells, flashing red lights, and a gate here.
- Of course, virtual trains don't do real damage.
Model train station and trains
--
Overview of the town
--
Of course they have tunnels
- You could even walk through them.
Model drive-in
We could watch the movie
- Yes, this is realistic enough to show movies.
- You can do that in virtual worlds
Not much at the refreshment stand
--
Model drive-in with model cars
--
This store is not really a model
- There are things for sale in it.
- Lots of stuff that would go into a model town.
- Is anyone interested in Model railways?
- Model aircraft, model boats, model fire engines
- Of course people sell the models they make here.
- Virtual models are just as useful as the ones people put on coffee tables.
- And they don't get dusty.
Model fire station and fire engines
- We can even print our models in 3D.
- To show our computer-challenged friends.
