2016 PROMO: PEOPLE: Can we promote hypergrid activities too much? Does it become spam?

Can we promote hypergrid activities too much?
Does it become spam?
Promotion can become spam.  More easily, it can become wasted effort.  Look for ways to spread your promotion. But just because you see the same announcement several times, that does not mean people not following virtual worlds are seeing that.  And those are the people we want to get the word to.

  • I see lots of hypergrid notices.  I often see the same event promoted 3 or 4 times.
  • It is not spam to me.  I like to see those notices.
  • The reason I see those notices is that I ask for notices in lots of G+ communities.
  • I usually open one of these notices and pass it on to my profile stream.
  • And from my profile stream maybe to elsewhere, preferably in the outworld.

What's good about multiple listings of events and places?

  • May raise the ranking in Google's search algorithm
  • Gives gives slightly connected people a better chance of seeing it.
  • Makes it easier for strongly connected viewers to find it.

What to avoid

  • Multiple promotions to the same community.
  • More than 3 posts, or 4, if one goes to the outworld
