The southern part of Heterocera, the atoll continent, is lowland and water passages.  The sea channel to the central lagoon passes through this area.  The VRC has established a railway circling the land portion, but the southern area requires this ferry to complete the circuit.

Click the sign for the current location of the ferry
-
You will get an notice of the current location of the Ferry, with a link that you can click to teleport to that location.

  5. The ferry I reported on will not accommodate a vehicle, but it would be possible to build such a ferry. Next to the Ferry dock at Tuliptree, there is a lock that could lower a rail car from track level to water level to make such a transition. I don't think it is operational at this time.
