2016 HELP: OSHG: Kitely now fills the search panels on the viewer. Events, places, and classifieds benefit

Kitely now fills the search panels on the viewer.   
Events, places, and classifieds benefit 
Search for people, groups. places, events, and classifieds in Kitely.  The same panels we are used to using in the old grid.  When we came to OpenSim, we found that those panels gave no information.  Now they do on Kitely and maybe on other grids.  Product differentiation.

  • Search for People, Groups, Places, Events and Classifieds
  • Kitely adds another service we have come to expect from the older grid.
  • Check your entries: Things found in search may need extra information.
  • Only the events list is well populated at the beginning.
  • But the others will be as we have time to update them.
  • For now, "Any category" may be a good strategy for searching.
  • Know of other grids with search to fill the search panels?
  • Please mention them in the comments.

Events

  • The events panel gives an inworld listing of upcoming events on Kitely.
  • Newcomers ask about upcoming events.  
  • Now we have an answer to show them inworld.    
  • How to add events

Places

  • You list by parcel in the places panel.  
  • Thus if your world has multiple places you can list them all.
  • Each parcel gets its own TP point.  
  • Be sure to give the parcel a meaningful name.
  • Mall owners, venue owners, anyone looking for traffic: Your parcel is not my parcel
  • Search for Sandbox got 8 hits.
  • Worlds are not parcels and may not show in this search.  
  • You can make a parcel with the same name as your world.  

Groups

  • Owner:  Check Show in Search on the General page.
