Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, is a 1993 Stop Motion musical directed by Henry Selick and produced/co-written by Tim Burton. Burton wrote a three-page poem The Nightmare Before Christmas when he was a Disney animator in the early-1980s. He took inspiration from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and the poem A Visit from St. Nicholas. The film tells the story of Jack Skellington, The Pumpkin King from Halloween Town who opens a portal to Christmas Town. Danny Elfman wrote the film score and provided the singing voice of Jack, as well as other minor characters. Marilyn Manson also sang a version of the song 'This Is Halloween'.
