YouTube is second in popularity among social media. Since it presents videos, it does well at carrying interesting events from the virtual world to the world of the internet browser.  Current tools make it easy and fast to move an event from video capture to YouTube.

YouTube

  • One billion hours of content being watched on YouTube every day. 
  • The website is ranked as the second-most popular site in the world.
  • YouTube (Wikipedia)
  • A video shows what we see in a MUVE (virtual world).
  • It thus shows a concrete few minutes of our digital lives.  
  • We can make multiple YouTube channels showing our favorite activities.
  • We can spread the presentation further by embedding the video in a web page.
  • I put a video in my blog whenever I find one I think will be of interest to my readers.

A writer's workshop under development now has one major element ready for initial evaluation.  Here the developers invite writers to try out the story-exercise feature and provide evaluation.

Writer's Swamp

  • Put the HG address in the Find bar of the World Map. Click Find, TP
  • As you arrive at the Writer's Swamp, look around for a large box.
  • Click the box for starting instructions. 
  • From there, start the story and explore around the mansion.

Story-exercise

Objective

  • Create an interactive experience in a MUVE (virtual world) to give users practice in generating story scenarios.

Method 

  • Create a serialized story in which each episode stimulates the visitor to imagine what comes next.
  • Ensure that each episode makes the visitor want to see what comes next.

  • Yeah, but where do you think we got the idea?
  • And, BTW, pay attention to how those stories go. 
  • We always hope that our readers will do the same.
  • When they find themselves on a quest.
  • Like now.
  • As the story opens something happened to make us seek something
  • How do we replace Google Plus?  Preliminary ideas

  • MeWe offers some of the features we were using in G+.
  • A number of people active on the Hypergrid have joined MeWe.
  • Some active groups on the Hypergrid have been recreated in MeWe.
  • If you have an active community in G+, you may want to recreate it in MeWe. 
  • MeWe posts are available only to those registered on MeWe.
  • MeWe is useful for ingroup conversation, not for outreach.
