2018 WW: Cybalounge tutorial: Contacts with people: Your friends list and more

    Cybalounge tutorial:
    Contacts with people:
    Your friends list and more
    Updated 6/2/2018

An advantage of a user-built virtual world is that you can find users who are building.  At least you can if you can use the contact support.  Cybalounge offers that support and you can use it to make friends, exchange messages, offer teleport, exchange inventory items, or give people manager powers in your place.

How do you interact with people?

2017 IMA: HG Chamber of Commerce: How about a Virtual Worlds Fair?

    HG Chamber of Commerce:
How about a Virtual Worlds Fair?
A suggested plan for promoting virtual worlds on the Hypergrid.  A persistent Worlds Fair Grounds with links to places of interest all over the Hypergrid.  Free space is available.  Can we get a group together to do this?
    e
    • A real world's fair in virtual worlds.
    • The fair grounds are a hub to HG places and events everywhere.
    • Displays promote the places and events and walkin TPs give prompt access.
    • Infinite Metaverse Alliance  can provide space and promotion.
    • Hypergrid Chamber of Commerce may be interested in managing it.
    • A persistent space with some persistent and some temporary exhibits
    • Following the pattern of some state fairs in the old world.
    • Seasonal, not annual.  Events and promotion several times a year.
    • The fair grounds could be the Go-To place for what's happening on the Hypergrid.
    • The Virtual World’s Fair is where VR hype meets theme parks
    • (We can't use that term without checking trademarks and copyrights.)
    • Worlds Fair of the Metaverse?
    • Can we get a group together to do this?

2017 EDU: WW: Information/social games for public service web-worlds

    Informative/social games for public-service web-worlds
Informative/social games could be a useful strategy for web sites created by public-service organizations.  They might be especially useful for web-world sites because they could be played socially by visitors to the site,  even though the visitors are in remote locations.
    Web-world for nonprofits
    and public service organizations
    • Public service organizations have a theme and a mission.
    • The mission usually includes building public awareness about the theme.
    • Awareness would often include prevalence, risk factors, and recommended action.
    • A web site on the theme might present a list of these things.
    • A web-world on the theme might do the same.
    • But since it can bring people together, it can do more.
    • It can offer cooperative or competitive games using the awareness information.
    • What can visitors do in a web-world if nobody is there?

Virtual Reality Grocery Shopping: Part 2
An illustration of how virtual reality can be used to provide practice intended to be therapeutic.

Virtual Reality Occupational Therapy would like to present, back by request, another grocery shopping session. Designed to address visual perceptual skills of visual closure, figure ground, and scanning, this session allows clients to practice and improve these skills by locating items on the shelves of a grocery store. We have most recently been using VR-OT with TBI, PTSD, Anxiety disorders, ADHD, and Autism, with outstanding outcomes and noting excellent carry-over of skills!! If there are any VR-OT sessions that you would like to see, please feel free to let us know.
