2021 DTA: imagining an entrance chatbot for a 3D website or a 3D grid. The chatbot uses the FAQ. Draft plan.

Imagining an entrance chatbot for a 3D website or a 3D grid
The chatbot uses the FAQ.
Draft plan.
Draft plan for a welcome bot in virtual worlds.
Tour bot
  • Floating text:  "My name is Danielle you tourist guide, click me"
  • Gives notecard with landmarks.

Objectives

  • Show new people how a 3D place can be social
  • Show how 3D places can be populated with informative bots.
  • For children, a bot might be an animal.  For geeks it might be a robot.

Draft plan

Design

  • Keyword driven
  • Activated by proximity: LSL volume detect
  • Sourced by FAQ database
  • FAQ database is a set of pages with each page answering a question.
  • Bot offers welcome speech and notecard.
  • Bot offers to answer questions ("Click me and type your question.")
  • Bot looks for keyword in user text input..
  • If a keyword is found, bot delivers associated FAQ page(s)
  • If a keyword is not found, bot says "Sorry, all I know about is this:"
  • Bot delivers a list of key worlds and stores the question for human review.
  • Unanswered questions may suggest possible changes in the FAQ.
