2016 TKR: Meal checks for using your head. Manage your brain. Notice the unnoticed

Meal checks for using your head
Manage your brain
Notice the unnoticed
  • Are you leaving something unattended?
  • Do you have something you definitely want to tend to, but not today?
  • Got to do something, but you have not decided what?
  • Write the three most important of those things on a piece of paper.
  • Put the paper where you will see it every day at some meal time
Here is a trick that works for some people: Mealchecks

        Mealchecks

        • In the sugar bowl
        • Next to your credit card
        • Taped to the TV remote (if you are still using that)
        -
        • When you see the paper, pick one of the items
        • Answer these questions:
        -
        • Did I do anything about this since the last meal?
        • Can I do anything about this before the next meal?
        • If not, when can I do something about this?
        • You don't have to answer.
        • Asking the questions gets your brain started.
        • It may come up with an answer later.

Here is a set of Mealchecks you might try.

        • What did I do recently that I wish I had done better or faster?
        • How could I do it better or faster?
        • What is my first step on that plan?
        or
        • What is my next project?
        • What are the first few joblets I need to do?
        • Can I imagine myself doing one of those joblets.
