2016 HG: PEOPLE: OpenSim Treasure Hunt by Tangle Grid. HGProjects

OpenSim Treasure Hunt by Tangle Grid.  HGProjects
A goal of the HGProjects is to get people to explore the hypergrid.   Tangle Grid's treasure hunts do that effectively.   Especially with a second hunt and wide interest.  This article tells users how to take part in the hunt.

  • Maria's notice: Multi-grid treasure hunt starts April 15
  • STARTS - Apr-15-2016 04:00:00 -
  • ENDS - May-15-2016 04:00:00
  • Join In At Any Time
  • 24 grids participating
  • 106 regions participating.
  • Scores and regions you missed.
  • (Hypergrid regions are like sims in Second LIfe, but may be larger in size)

How to hunt

  • Login to your home grid
  • Go to the OpenSim Treasure Hunt website
  • Click on the menu tab "Grids/Hints"
  • Click on the hints for the grid you want to go to first--probably your home grid.
  • Another page will come up with a list of all the hunt regions on that grid.
  • Hold your mouse over the HINT button - It will give you a hint for finding the hunt item.
  • Once you have that then click on the right "JUMP" for your viewer. (Firestorm is HOP)
  • If this does not work for you, try these options:
  • On your home grid, open World Map and enter the region name in the search bar next to Find.  Click Find. If the place is found, click Teleport
  • To go to a place on a different grid, use OpenSimWorld
  • Find the hunt item from your hint and click on it.
  • You are now registered and you can move on to the next hunt item.
  • Go back to the OpenSim Treasure Hunt website, repeat what you have just done.

Lessons learned

  • Test the instructions as a new user would.  New users don't have your background experience.
  • Get other people, with different viewers to test the instructions.  Not all viewers work the same.
  • If you need help in testing, ask me.  I am pretty good at being stupid.
