El Caracol

As is the case with probably all ancient cultures, the careful observation of the stars thoughout the yearly cycle was important to the Mayans. In an effort to capture both the beauty of Maya architecture and the extensive knowledge of astronomy, the team at TejanoTech decided to add a virtual representation of "El Caracol" to Second Life. Although not entirely representative of the physcial structure in real life, we hope to provide the visitor with a glimpse into the past

You think helicopters are an invention of the 20th century? - No, they are not, the idea is over 500 Years old. 15th century: Leonardo Da Vinci develops the concept of an aircraft using helicopter technology. Unfortunately he was not able to build it.

But finally you can fly the Davincicopter in SL. It was built using the basic concepts of Leonardo. I wonder what he would say to this...
