A taxpayer supported online school.  A public school from the standpoint of the parents.  A privately managed school from the standpoint of the staff.  A developing industry that is bound to need people and resources appropriate for online instruction.

Its educational products and services are designed as alternatives to traditional "bricks and mortar" education for public school students from kindergarten to 12th grade. K12 is a publicly traded education management organization (EMO) that provides online education services to charter school students. It is paid for from taxes.^[3] K12 is the largest EMO in terms of enrollment.^[4]

Used for video production and immersive stories

Non-Player Characters (NPCs)  are made as duplicates of avatars.  They can be animated to duplicate animated actions of avatars.  They are of particular value for making videos, where they can be used in many scenes in place of the duplicated avatar.  They are also of value in immersive stories, where they can appear characters in the stories.  NPCs can be created and used in OpenSim, not Second Life

2015 WRITE: PEOPLE: SL Enquirer offers aspiring writers a place to show their work.

Why would writers be interested in virtual worlds? 

Fiction writers create virtual worlds in their stories.  They can create virtual worlds that people can look at, walk around in, capture in pictures.  They can meet with other writers have a conversation about their work.  They can write about virtual worlds, have conversations with their readers, get suggestions from their readers, find publishers interested in publishing some of their work, as with the SL Enquirer here.  Why would writers not be interested in virtual worlds?

This week at the Short Poetry Workshop we’re doing Take Five. Everyone is given 5 words to use in a poem. Use any poetry form including free verse. The group will then chose 5 more words to use in the next poem. It’s great fun to see how everyone writes different styles using the same 5 words

Metaverse tours are currently in suspension for the summer.  This proposal is not an official plan for operation, but a proposal for operating Metaverse Tours. Serene Jewell is the owner of the community and would be the one to decide to adopt this plan or any part of it.
