FAST START - FOR THOSE TOTALLY NEW TO SECOND LIFE

INSTALLING AND LOGGING IN
Click the URL of Virtual Pioneers Headquarters http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/EduIsland%209/105/69/22
Select “Join Now, it’s free!”
Register username, password, email and additional information requested
Check “I have read and agree to the Second Life Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service, including the use of arbitration and the waiver of any class or group claim to resolve disputes.”
Check “I’m not a robot”
Check “create account”
Select “Go Basic”
Select “Download and Install Second Life”
Open your downloads folder and run Second_Life..._Setup.exe installer
Select language
Select default installation file location
Allow time for installation and automatic update check
You will arrive at Second Life Sign In Screen
Enter username and password
Select “Login”
Check “I have read and agree to the Second Life Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service, including the dispute resolution requirements.
Select “Continue”
You will arrive at Virtual Pioneers Headquarters
GREETING AND COMMUNICATING
Walk forward to enter the building (UP ARROW or “W” KEY)
Look around (LEFT ARROW, RIGHT ARROW or “A” “D” KEYS)
Say hello and friend fellow pioneers (Right Click avatar, Select “Add Friend”)
To use text chat click “Chat” button at bottom left and type
To use voice chat click “Speak” button (bottom left) and talk
To send a friend request, Right Click the avatar and select “Add Friend”
To accept a friend request, select “Accept”
