Don't mess up your public world.  
Make a copy and mess that up.  
OARS and Kitely features
You build a world.  Everything looks great.  You set it to public.  It is perfect.  Well, perfect today.  You'll be smarter tomorrow.   You'll begin to think about how to improve it.  But now it is public.  Not all your changes will make it better. Make an OAR and work on it on your home computer.  Or make a duplicate (with a different name) and work in the grid you were using.  

How to make a duplicate of your sim

  • Be on a grid that will make an OAR file for you.
  • Or be on a grid that will create a duplicate of your sim.
  • Use only objects that you can copy.

        Get an OAR File

        • Some grids make it easy to download  and upload OAR files.
        • They will have DIY instructions on the website.
        • On other grids you have to ask the grid operator.  
        • If the grid operator has to make an OAR file, allow some time.  
        • Grid operators have other work too. 
        • Option 1: Load the oar file on your own machine.
        • SOAS
        • Option 2: Load the work copy to any grid, but under a different name.
        • The grid needs to support download and upload of OARs

        Make a duplicate of your sim (In Kitely)

        • See:  https://www.kitely.com/services
        • (Other grids may offer this service also.  Or maybe they will if you ask.)
        • Copy an existing Kitely world into a new Stored World
        • You do this on the Kitely, My Worlds Page
        • This costs about 50 cents USD.  
        • You will have to bring it out of the stored worlds status to work on it.
        • If you have a Kitely premium account you probably have spare worlds 
        • So you just load it to one of those.  
        • Kitely is not now offering premium accounts, but may at some later time.
        • (This use is one reason why people might want such accounts.)
        • If you don't have a premium account, you would create a starter world
        • then load the Stored world into the starter world and edit it.
        • You would be charged on for the time you use the starter world,
        • But on a prorated basis, with the time running till the end of the month
        • So if you start work on the world at mid month and close it before month end,
        • you would only be charged for half a month.
