A few people in Kitely have started a newsletter about Kitely.  Here I report on the most recent issue and an idea it suggested.

        Here come the kMOOCs

        • What's a kMOOC? Get together to learn stuff!  
        • Many universities now provide free Massively Open Online Courses or MOOCs
        • but there is an issue: online education can be isolating and so people dropout. 
        • There are millions of people on the internet, but you are all alone.
        • Answer:  Form a study group in Kitely (let’s call it a kMOOC!). 
        • There are only thousands of people in virtual worlds.
        • But you are never alone unless you want to be. 
        • Meet on your own world or in the Welcome Center.

        • Put a Hypergrid address in your World Map, next to Find.  Click Find, TP
        • I think you are welcome to have meetings there
        • Look around for places with seating for meetings.
        • You are also welcome to have meetings on Cookie II.  
        • You can even rez on the sandbox on Cookie II. 
        • You just have to be in the Hobo Sandboxers group. 
        • Contact Selby Evans or Ada Radius for an invitation to the group. 

        How can I help?

        • I am a retired professor of psychology.
        • I am not an expert on any of the topics a MOOC is likely to study.
        • I do know a bit about learning and learning how to learn.
        • If any kMOOK group would like me to drop by a meeting.
        • I can answer some questions about how to learn.  
        • If any group wants me to do that, contact Selby Evans in Kitely.  
        • I will do my best to schedule a meeting time with your group.
        • If I can't make it, I will try to figure out an alternative way
        • to get your questions answered.

All builders from beginner to pro are invited.  Presentations are in voice and text.  For text presentations, best bring the text in a notecard and paste it into chat.  Voice presentations may be captured in video.  Stills and videos from the show may appear in this blog.
