2015 HELP: Useful solution rituals for virtual worlds and other digital equipment

Useful solution rituals for virtual worlds 
and other digital equipment
I started to put this advice in my main solutions page because it is so simple.  But it is so widely useful that I decided we would want to be able to link to it directly.  So it needs its own page.

For any digital equipment that stops working

  • Turn it off.
  • Disconnect it from power.
  • Let it sit for a half-hour*
  • Power it up and try again
  • For routers and modems, do this to both.
*Ten seconds will probably work for most things.  But if you try 10 seconds and it does not solve the problem, you will wonder if 30 minutes would have worked.

        Metaverse beginner help

        For anything that is not working in a virtual world

        • Move to another parcel and return.  Dbl-click TP
        • TP to another sim and return.  
        • (Restart the sim.  On Kitely, use Stop World)
        • Log off, reboot your computer, log back on.
        • Log off, wait a few hours before you try again.
