2016 PROMO: HG: Hypergridders: Are you getting full use of your G+ profile?

Hypergridders:
Are you getting full use of your G+ profile?
In the multigrid worlds of the hypergrid, you need a grid-independent address.   Your G+ profile will do.   If you have projects, skills, products, or anything you want to tell people about, you need a place to start the telling.  That is your G+ profile.  But you don't get full use of the profile until you get people to see what is on it. Here are some suggestions on how to do that.
You have a profile on your home grid.  But people have to go to your home grid.  Do they even remember what is your home grid?  The can send you an IM if you are on their friends list.  Otherwise, how can they contact you?  One good way is your Google+ profile.

Who cares about using their G+ profile?

  • Bloggers: collect leads and promote your blog.
  • Content creators:  promote your products and talk to your customers
  • Performers:  promote your work, talk with fans and venues.
  • Community developers: recruit to the community.
  • Land Developers: talk to customers, promote offers
  • Everyone: Promote your name and brand.

  • Q: What happened to the Friday event notices you were carrying twice a month?
  • A: They weren't drawing enough interest and alternative sources came online.  I am now running a short  form daily near the top of this blog. A more comprehensive collection is in  Selby's daily news collection

What do you put on your G+ profile?

  • Whatever you want to tell people about.
  • The kinds of things you produce.
  • Your inworld store and how to find it.
  • Your Kitely Market store--and you can link to that.
  • Your current projects and what people can do about them.
  • Your website, blog, or other web presence, with links
  • How to reach you (if you want).  Home grid and address for that grid.
  • NOT your email address--scrapers will get that and sell it to spammers.
  • Your news stream, carrying any items you want to pass on to others.

What would you put on your news stream?

  • Links to all the posts in blog articles you want people to read.
  • Links to all the events you want to promote.
  • Current news about items in your profile.

Bloggers

As a blogger I use my G+ profile every day.   I use Feedly to read the news and often find items that I may want to report on.  Most articles have a button that sends a link to the news stream on my profile. I use that button to gather any articles that I may want to report on, reread, or give wider circulation.
-
Later, I review the collection.  Some items I copy over to my blog notes for further action.  Some items I send to Google communities where I think there will be an interest.  Some I just leave there for other people to read.
-
My stream apparently has proved useful to others.  It has over 8 million views and over 3600 followers. It carries a lot of items that don't make it to my blog articles.
