2017 OSHG: EDU: A third web-world. Singer Girl markets her music academy

OSHG:  A third web-world.
Singer Girl markets her music academy
Another web world brings a 3D world to a browser page.  This one is not only a demo, but a marketing tool.  But it is also a demo of how web worlds could be used as a marketing tool.   Maybe they will be used as a marketing tool by some virtual world grids or communities.
Web-world entrance in a flat picture
You have to go to the web page to get in
**********************

The initial world, as simple as possible

  • As initially opened, it has no avatars and gets no names.
  • If the computer is focused on the web world, you enter by clicking on the up arrow.
  • You enter the world as a disembodied camera.
  • You can look all around and move the camera closer or farther away from an object.
  • There may be no way to talk to other people--yet.
  • Objects can probably be set to give actions when you click on them.

Possible advantages and uses for this simple world

  • Readily open to impulse entry.
  • Press the up-arrow key and you walk in.
  • Probably minimal load on the server.
  • This world might be able to accommodate a large number of visitors.
  • It might be well-suited to a presentation (music or speech).
  • Music or speech would be streamed over the web in any case.
  • People in an audience can be anonymous.

Probable needs for more than presentations to audience

  • Voice and text chat
  • Avatars and names displayed
  • Seats and sitting animations

Potential uses in marketing

  • You can have office hours and be there to talk with people.
  • You can put puzzle items relevant to the subject.
  • You can put out recorded answers to common questions.
  • A click can read a file from any web site.
  • You can set meeting times for user or learner groups to meet.
