Promote you HG business or community with a landing page.  HG project
A landing page is a web page designed to help visitors find what they want from your business or community by aggregating links to web locations that tell what you want to tell. It may be used as a target for Google adwords (hence landing page).  It may also be used as a target by other aggregating pages such as the grid or Opensimworld

          Fictional example

          • Imagine a home and garden community, run by Dek O'Rater.
          • With a name like that, she can never get on Facebook.
          • But she has a G+ community, "Pimp Your Place."
          • And she has an OpenSim store of the same name.
          • She also has a store on Kitely Market with a similar name
          • Dek also writes a blog on the same topic. 
          • She has done a few videos about her homes and gardens.
          • And a few other blogs have covered her place.
          • Dek makes a landing page that carries links to all these places.
          • The landing page is designed mainly for people who don't know virtual worlds.
          • It talks mostly about virtual homes and gardens.  
          • It tells the visitor to come join the Google+ community to chat.  
          • There are instructions near the top on how to get to her place.
          • Those instructions are for people already in virtual worlds.
          • There are instructions farther down the page on how to start in a virtual world.
          • Here are articles Dek could include on her landing page as related:
          • Gardens and homes. The decorator story. How it could become a business.   
          • Building and real estate commercials? Are you as smart as a 6th grader?

          HG welcome page (a landing page)

          • I hope Dek can link to a HG Welcome landing page.
          • That would have instructions for getting started in Hypergrid.
          • It would also have a link to a HG welcome center inworld.
          • And it would carry links to all the landing pages about HG things
          • All the commercial grids have landing pages
          • Many non-commercial grids have landing pages (for registration)
          • Communities are developing landing pages.  
          • Some merchants are developing landing pages.
          • A Kitely World Page could be used as a landing page.

          How would Dek use her landing page?

          • If Dek were a non-profit, she could get a grant from Google for Adwords.
          • The grant would let her use a bunch of Adwords for nothing.
          • She chooses a term like "Texas summer garden"
          • When someone Googles for that term, a link to Dek's landing page may appear.
          • The page should have a prominent link to something about "Texas summer garden"
          • Probably an illustrated article in her blog with her virtual design for one. 
          • Dek probably could not be a non-profit, but others in HG can.
          • OpenSimWorld has the index and could show links to landing pages.
          • Commercial grids could carry links customer's landing pages. 
          • Kitely already carries links to customer worlds (that could be landing pages).

          • If Dek could not be a non-profit, she could still promote her landing page on the web.

          • Blogs:  Any blogs about home and garden.
          • Top 50 Home & Garden Blogs

          • Videos: Links in video are not clickable, so won't get many hits.  
          • But you can put a clickable link in accompanying text.

          • Google+ communities (search Google+)
          • House and garden 
          • House and Garden designs
          • Home Decor  (Nearly 500,000 members)
          • Most of the people in these communities probably don't know about virtual worlds.
          • But they may be interested after Dek shows them what she can do.
