2016 VIB: STAGE: OSHG: Browser-viewer imaginary use case: Entertainment

Browser-viewer: Imaginary use case:
Entertainment
For entertainment, browser-viewer will shift the target market from the virtual worlders to the users of the web.  Impulse entry will be the target action.  Pick your avatar.  Come in, listen to the performances, chat with the entertainers, find out what is available, tell the producers what entertainment you want, set up an audition for your performance

Entry browser-viewer (imaginary)

  • Web page offers sound from live show or previous recording.
  • Maybe shows streaming video from current show.
  • Announces current show with invitation: "Pick your av and join us."

Easy entry

  • Basic freemium: No registration, no password,
  • No edit av, no inventory, no friend list.
  • Just come in for a visit, see if you like what we do.

And now a word from the YesButters

Yes, but you can't have shows all the time.

  • If you aggregate over the hypergrid, you can have shows a lot of the time.
  • If you get PayPal donations from the visitors, you can pay for more shows.
  • -
  • If you don't have a show, you put up a notice: "Next show starts at:....................."
  • And you offer to send a reminder by email or in their Google calendar
  • You also provide a Google calendar of upcoming events,
  • pointing out how they can have that calendar mark their Google calendars.
  • -
  • You can probably switch locations on your entertainment page
  • So you might run a site called "Worlds of Entertainment,"
  • with venues the right time zones around the world.
  • "The go-to place to visit live entertainment on the web."

"Worlds of Entertainment"

  • "The go-to place to visit live entertainment on the web"
  • Will link to videos of live entertainment.
  • Will link to performers' pages.
  • May offer live chats directly from the page, with performers and fans.
  • May offer fan-club forums.
  • May offer performer schedules of appearances
  • in that place the old folks still call the "real" world.

Grid event hub, maybe

  • A grid website with browser entry
  • A venue with stage and audience visible in the entry
  • A calendar showing upcoming events
  • A welcome video also on the entry page
  • Walkin TPs to other entertainment places on the grid
  • Web senders to entertainment websites with locations on the grid
  • Welcome kit with LMs and notecards carrying hops to those places
