Museums in the metaverse.
Create a 3D Virtual Museum in minutes!
Museums on your laptop, tablet, smart phone
Anything you can show in a museum, you can show in the metaverse.  That puts the museum in practically every home and school.
  • Watch on YouTube
  • Tutorial 6: Create a 3D Virtual Museum in minutes!
  • This video has captions, please turn it on by clicking on the CC button at the bottom of the clip.
  • In this clip, I captured the ideation process for creating an example 'museum exhibit'. I show how I created a mini-museum featuring works from Pablo Picasso, literally in minutes (the duration of this clip).
  • Typically, a group of designers would log into our 3D virtual work area to help each other reach a common design.
  • The RezMela system is ideally suited for this process. It radically reduces exhibit design prototyping costs and produces tangible design solutions after live brainstorming sessions.

Kitely YouTube videos and the Kitely YouTube channel.
We can use these to promote Kitely activities.
There is power in aggregation.
A recent discussion at the Sunday community meeting noted that Kitely has a YouTube channel, with  few videos, despite the large number of videos made in Kitely and posted on YouTube.  Here I suggest a plan to aggregate and organize videos made in Kitely. Kitely could use that collection in playlists on its YouTube channel and elsewhere.

2020 #VWEDU: VWBPE: Virtual Worlds and Social Justice: An Impact and Civic Engagement Agenda.

Virtual Worlds and Social Justice:
An Impact and Civic Engagement Agenda
Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Eduction
The current public health crisis has  brought about a rapid ‘revolution’ that many commentators have been evangelising about for some time. In many cases however it has resulted in a form of ‘remote teaching’, not online pedagogy. Indeed, a key question for all of us in education once this crisis is ‘over’, what will be the legacy of this ‘exodus to online education?’

Introduction: Heike Philp / Gwen Gwasi

Michael Thomas is a Professor of Education with a focus on digital learning, social justice, social mobility and the student experience. I’m a Principal Fellow of the HEA and hold two PhDs, one from the Newcastle University and a second from Lancaster University. He has studied for an MBA in Educational Management at the University of Leicester, M.Ed at Manchester University, an MA at Newcastle University and change leadership at Cornell University. He has worked at eight universities in Germany, Japan and the UK, from ancient, to Russell Group to modern, and led large, multinational research groups and project teams.
