The Hypergrid needs a HG community calendar. Or maybe a set of calendars.  Google calendars look to me like the right thing because they are widely used and set up for collaboration.  But Google calendars have mysteries and tech problems.  So shawnkmaloney Craftgrid  has created a community especially for people interested in using Google calendars to promote events on OpenSim.

2014 BIZ: OPENSIM: Kitely Hypergrid Market working well in private beta.

Kitely Hypergrid Market is still in private beta, but the performance seems to be good.  Two big problems have been resolved.  Maybe it is not too early for content creators to look into using Kitely Market as a market to the Hypergrid.   My guess is that it will be operational in about 10 days or less.

The Kitely market is in full scale operation.  You can find it here: Kitely Market.  The part that is in private beta is delivery to the Hypergrid.  When Hypergrid delivery goes operational, products currently on the market should be deliverable to the Hypergrid.

2013 STECH: Reminder--ONE BILLION RISING-Feb 14

ONE BILLION RISING-Feb 14, 24 hours, 
starting at midnight Pacific Standard Time

On February 14, 2013, for 24 hours starting at midnight Pacific Standard Time, Second Life residents will join with activists around the world in a spectacular 24-hour dance event for ONE BILLION RISING, the largest day of action in the history of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls

• A giant 4 sim stage 
• Allows over 200 avatars 
• To enjoy the live music, art/info exhibits.
• Objective: is to raise awareness, not to raise funds.

The Second Life event will take place on four sims: OBR Walk, OBR Strike, OBR Rise and OBR Dance.  The central stage will extend over all four sims.  All the sims have been sponsored by businesses within Second Life.

Look for information kiosks with notecards about the event, the organization which inspired it, and how to help people who may be experiencing violence in their life.

Near the stage on each region is a gift area. Everyone should stop by and pick up the One Billion Rising goodie box with shirts, hats and bears for everyone attending the event. Sponsors have also been invited to place gifts in this area.
