2016 PEOPLE: EVENTS: Plan for the HG eventorator

Plan for the HG eventorator 
Eventorator is a name I made up for a place in the metaverse that hosts the news about events.  The HG Eventorator hosts the news about Hypergrid events. My preliminary idea is that it would have self-updating posters (probably Browsers on Prim--BOPS).  These posters would display (and link to) web pages with calendars or other event notices.  I am setting up an eventorator place in Kitely.  Everybody is welcome to use it or use the ideas in it. Or to suggest ideas for it.
The Eventorator (in development)
  • Go there: Firestorm Hop:

  • In Kitely, put the hop in the Firestorm nav (top) bar, enter
  • HG address:  grid.kitely.com:8002:Creative Collaborators 
  • Put the HG address in the World Map, next to find
  • Use the Firestorm hop if you don't see a Walkin gate.

  • If you don't see a web page on the poster, click on the poster.
  • Or set your Firestorm viewer to show web pages automatically:
  • Avatar-- Preferences--Graphics--Sound&Media--Allow media to auto-play

  • To open the web page, look for the floating bar above the poster 
  • (In Firestorm 64 bit, at least)
  • Click on the graphic at the right end.

  •  Eventorator Objective:  
  • to provide inworld display of HG events current and upcoming.
  • to make that display readily available to people coming into HG grids.
  • How: Gather events from available postings on the internet.
  • Create BOP posters to display internet postings inworld.
  • Make posters free to copy at inworld display (I hope).
  • Solicit additional links to pages that can be posted or embedded.

  • Promote the display of relevant posters at inworld welcome sites.

        • An effort to report on all the promoted events on the HG
        • HYPEvents reads all the web calendars it can and organizes the results by time.
        • What is going on now on the hypergrid?
        • What HG events are coming up today?
        • What HG events are coming up soon?
          •
        • What are the uneventful times on the Hypergrid?
        • HYPEvents answers these questions.

        • To get listed the easy way, list your events in a web calendar that HYPEvents already scrapes.
        • The calendar for your grid may be a good choice.
        • Example: Kitely calendar 
        • Or perhaps you will use the calendar your community is publishing.
        • Or use both.
