Set who can change your BOPS (for Firestorm)
-
Usually you want a Browser-on-Prim (BOP) to work like a browser. That means any user can scroll it and go to other urls with it . But for some purposes, you don't want other people changing the display. Here is how to set up a prim to control who can change the display.

How to set a Browser-on-Prim (BOP) to limit who can change the display
- In Firestorm:
- Create a new prim (cube).
- Don't put a script in it yet.
- Adjust it to size and shape. (Try 2.x.05x2)
- Be sure it is phantom
- Go to Texture tab
- Set to Full Bright
- Click the Materials dropdown and select Media
- Click Choose, then click the side where the BOP is to go.

Media settings, General
- After you choose the display side,
- The Media Settings panel will open at the General tab
- Put the url for the page you want to show in the Home Page bar
- Click the Customize tab to set access controls
Media Settings panel,
General tab
Media Settings, Customize
- Click the checked box to remove checks for Anyone
- You can also allow or disallow controls for the managing group
Media Settings, Customize
- This method can be use to create any BOP prim.
- But if anyone can control the browser,
- The display will not stay as you expected for long.
- I use a script to reset the display every 15 or 20 minutes.
- You can find the script here: BOP advanced. Videos, Calendars
- Use the media in SL: Browser-On-Prim (BOP) Summary
