Crowdfunding OpenSim development. It works.

Limited to 9 participants on a first come, first serve basis.
In OpenSim: A scripting function was generally unusable because of a serious bug. Talla Adam, in Opensim Virtual, proposed a crowdfunding solution: Donors would collectively pledge money to create a bounty of $2000 (USD), to be paid to the person developing a solution to this problem.

History
A discussion about problems with moving objects in OpenSim identified particular problems with script functions llLookAt and llMoveTo. Talla Adam proposed, in Opensim Virtual, that a group of donors get together and pledge enough collectively to create a $2000 bounty for the person who solved the problem. Talla managed the project through Opensim VirtualStatement of objective and plan by Talla Adam
Initially the pledge makers will be pledging sums of money to a fund for a specific purpose, which is to offer a bounty up to a target sum of $2000 to be paid to an Opensim developer, or more than one developer if the pledge makers agree, to repair existing code or submit new code to the Open Simulator team that will correct failure of the script functions, llLookAt and llMoveTo. No money is to be paid to any developer until the code has been tested by members of the pledge makers and to the satisfaction of all pledge makers. Once the pledge makers are agreed then all the money pledged to the fund will become due and the pledge makers will be asked to send their pledge amounts to the developer/s who it is agree has won the bounty. In the event any pledge is not paid in a timely manner after payment has been consented at a pledge maker's meeting then a guarantor must step in to meet the defaulting sum if after a fix period it has still not been paid. Therefor the guarantor must be one of the pledge makers and agree a sum of half the target sum. In practice that means the guarantor will have to meet any payments defaulted up to half the target sum.More information here

How to handle a Hypergrid address
From any Hypergrid-enabled grid, paste the address into the address bar of Firestorm and press enter. Or paste it into the world map search bar of any viewer, search, and click Teleport when the destination is found. If it doesn't work, don't give up. Try again in a minutes. Sometimes the first try fails (probably times out). And try again a few hours later. Some hypergrid destinations are offline part of the day.
- The ideal Hypergrid address form--almost there in Firestorm
- If you get an address like this:
- hg.francogrid.org:80:Residence-09:/119/128/190
- paste it into the address bar of Firestorm, see if it takes you to the exact coordinates.
