Promoting a decorating service with Social Media.  HGProject
Probably the strongest reason why we need the HGProjects organization: To organize promotion of the Hypergrid.   

Firestorm promotion for Second Life

  • Hypergrid has satisfied customers
  • Hypergrid has communities that could make landing pages. 
  • But Second Life has one thing Hypergrid does not have.
  • Organization.  (OK. Maybe I exaggerate a bit.)

What are Landing Pages?  

In a web-based promotional campaign, a landing page is a web page designed as a target for a particular ad, ad theme, or hyperlinked phrase. Look at the terms at the top of this article.  Each term is hyperlinked to a landing page.  In turn, each landing page carries links to other pages with additional content about the topic.  This arrangement is an element of SEO (search engine optimization)

If this blog were selling something, the landing page would feature an option to buy or a link to the next step in the buying process.  In the case of the opening Firestorm page, the landing pages may lead to a download Firestorm button and a special registration page.

Gimme a concrete example

  • Imagine a home and garden community, run by Dek O'Rater.
  • With a name like that, she can never get on Facebook.
  • But she has a G+ community, "Pimp Your Place."
  • And she has an Opensim place of the same name.
  • Dek also writes a blog on the same topic. 

  • The HGProjects organization announces its entry page plan.
  • It will promote an HG entry page with general entry instructions
  • And a community index to help people find communities that fit them.
  • "To be on the index, submit your landing page."
  • OpenSimWorld has the index and could show links to landing pages. 

  • Here are articles Dek could include on her landing page as related:
  • Gardens and homes. The decorator story. How it could become a business.   
  • Building and real estate commercials? Are you as smart as a 6th grader?
  • Check back in a few weeks when we hear Ann Tree Prenyour say:
  • "Making your landing page is not work, it is an opportunity."
