2020 #VWEDU: # DTA: VWBPE Social event: Second squares. What does a quiz show have to do with education?

VWBPE Social event:  Second squares.
What does a quiz show have to do with education?

Could a class be as interesting as a quiz show?  Has anyone tried to find out? Is it worth finding out?  Do schools really need to teach tolerance for boredom?

  • Education has always been a quiz game.
  • Just not entertaining.
  • Would a class be more entertaining as a quiz show?

Would a class be more entertaining as a quiz show?

The answer is probably: it depends on execution.

What to do

  • Use questions appropriate for the class.
  • Provide some reward for right answers.
  • Provide encouragement for audience participation.
  • Provide a way to encourage preparation.
  • Provide a skilled quizmaster.

Where to get the questions

Where to get the quizmaster

  • Not all teachers should try to be entertaining quizmasters.
  • On the internet, a quizmaster does not have to be local.
  • Colleges may have aspiring quizmasters who would work for course credit.
