News and Notes

    How do you find articles?

    • Feedly is my main aggregator.
    • It watches my periodical sources and shows me all the new articles.
    • Just the titles and summaries
    • I read the ones that look useful and mark the whole set as read.
    • When I see articles that might be of interest to my blog readers.
    • I send links to my G+ stream.
    • Later I send links to G+ communities that might want to read them.
    • And some I put into the draft file for my blog articles.
    • My G+ stream gets several thousand visits a day.
    • And it has nearly 3500 followers.
    • I put links to my own blog posts on the stream, of course.
    • Here is my Google stream

Bloggers:  Help readers promote your content

    • Put a G+ button on your article.
    • If you use Blogger, you get a button on the top bar.
    • I favor using a wigit to put another G+ button at the bottom.
    • That's where interested readers will be when they finish.
    • If you are not using Blogger, you still should be able to put the button on your blog.
    • You can add buttons for Facebook, Linkedin, and other social media.
    • I won't link to Facebook--it has kicked out lots of my virtual world friends.
