Avatar Repertory Theater is looking for a few good voices! Our upcoming shows scheduled so far this year:  Shakespeare's "Two Gentlemen of Verona" in February, Taming of the Shrew and Titus Andronicus TBA, in OpenSim, at our Cookie II world at the Kitely grid. We'll also be starting a virtual world theater workshop series at our Cookie II world on the Kitely grid in a few months.

          • Our mission: Preserve our cultural heritages in new media platforms, 
          • and support, develop and preserve new media arts and artists.

          Why would actors do this?

          ART actors have improved our voice acting abilities from performing frequently - we get to practice voices, accents, participate in workshops and pick up tricks and ideas from other actors in the troupe. Everyone in ART is encouraged to produce and direct shows, with help if needed from other troupe members. A few have been encouraged to go out more and audition in real life theater, successfully. One, a truck driver, decided to get his GED and at least an AA degree including acting classes, enough to get a job he loves in a library. More have been inspired to improve their virtual world building, learn to model and texture in Blender and PhotoShop, learn animating, and take a stab at scripting. Others have tried learning about theater scheduling, administration and publicity. We've all learned more about working with a microphone connected to a computer and an internet connection, and much about virtual world tech.-- Ada Radius

            The Hypergrid WIP Show

            The Hypergrid WIP is a one hour "show & tell" of works in progress or recently completed. All builders from beginner to pro are invited.  Presentations are in voice and text.  For text presentations, best bring the text in a notecard and paste it into chat.  Voice presentations may be captured in video.  Stills and videos from the show may appear in this blog.
