Free land, free migration, free voice for educators

Initiative: free land for educators migrating from Second Life – Hypergrid Business:
"The Immersive Education Initiative, a Boston-based non-profit coalition, announced today that it will offer free land, and free migration services, for educators working in Second Life’s Teen Grid.
-
The Initiative currently provides thousands of OpenSim regions to members around the world through its Education Grid project,  Aaron Walsh, founding director of the Immersive Education Initiative, told Hypergrid Business.
-
“The Immersive Education Initiative has approximately 3,000 members worldwide and continues to grow at the rate of approximately 100 new members a month,” he said."

Note that the offer now applies only to educators working in the teen grid.  Would it also apply to college level educators in Second Life?  It would not hurt to ask.
-
Good quality voice service appears to be a problem in OpenSim worlds.  For classes and other group meetings, there is a free and high quality service:
-
Free to non-profits
You can get a server with 25, 50, or 100 slots.
-
I used TeamSpeak before Second Life introduced voice and found it quite useful for a group of people who are already planning to work together.  It would not be as convenient for incidental meetings.
